Sagana Consulting: 

Sagana Consulting works with development organizations, foundations, corporations and other allocators of capital on maximizing the transformational effect of their resources. Opportunity: 

We are hiring an Associate Partner to Co-Lead Sagana Consulting, playing a pivotal role in steering the strategy, operations, and growth of the business unit to the next level. This role combines hands-on project leadership with business unit management, team development, and operational excellence. We’re looking for someone who brings a mix of entrepreneurial drive, strong consulting experience, and a systems mindset to improve how we operate and scale. 

In this role you will oversee multiple projects across a wide range of environmental and social themes and client types. Beyond project leadership you will co-lead strategic planning, realize business development efforts, and strengthen the people, systems, and processes that power our ambition to be a world class impact advisory firm. You’ll be part of a firm-wide leadership team that drives significant impact through the capital continuum from public to private sector, uniquely able to see and act on a more complete picture. 

 

Responsibilities: 


Business Unit Co-Leadership & Strategy 

  • Co-lead the Sagana Consulting business unit with shared accountability for strategic direction, resourcing, impact results and financial performance 
  • Contribute to quarterly priority-setting/OKRs and drive business to achieve them 
  • Collaborate with the Co-Founders and leadership team to shape the firm's evolution and growth 

Operational & Systems Ownership 

  • Effectively manage internal systems and processes to enhance quality of delivery, team efficiency, and knowledge sharing 
  • Design and maintain feedback loops to embed learning and consistency across project delivery 
  • Oversee optimization of project management, CRM, and knowledge tools as needed 

People Leadership 

  • Provide coaching and direct line management to a team of consultants, lead performance reviews and talent development 
  • Champion a culture of excellence, accountability, and wellbeing 
  • Recruit, onboard, and retain exceptional talent from diverse backgrounds in a global, remote environment 

Project & Client Management 

  • Ensure high-quality delivery across a portfolio of impact projects sectors, regions and clients 
  • Guide project teams on storyboarding, workplans, budgets, and timelines with a focus on strategic and actionable outcomes 
  • Provide quality control of deliverables and strategic support in complex or sensitive client contexts 

Business Development 

  • Identify and pursue strategic growth opportunities aligned with Sagana's mission and strengths, leveraging your existing network and building new relationships. Lead or contribute to proposal development, project pitching, and relationship building with new and existing clients 
  • Represent Sagana at industry events and in collaborative networks 

 

Skills and Experience: 

  • Around 15 years of relevant professional experience, including 5+ years at a well-established consulting firm. Deep sector knowledge in one of our primary sectors: climate, agriculture and food, health; or our secondary sectors: supply chains, fin tech/financial inclusion, infrastructure, water and sanitation 
  • Proven ability to grow and scale a consulting or advisory team or business. You are motivated to play a key role in scaling Sagana Consulting 
  • Experience managing and developing diverse teams, with a coaching-oriented and inclusive leadership style. You exemplify and thrive-in an open, collaborative culture 
  • Strong project management capabilities consulting toolkit fluency and strategic communication skills. You can guide and develop others on the team 
  • Experience with culturally diverse teams and clients; global mindset essential. You are a global citizen who appreciates and thrives working remotely and across time-zones 
  • Approach that is entrepreneurial, adaptable, and driven by impact and outcomes. You get things done, pay attention to details as well as strategy and dive deep into the work when necessary. You’re motivated by building new ventures and your commitment to quality is unwavering 
  • Fluency in English: additional languages are an advantage
